My Platform

Representing all of Fargo

I believe the city commission needs to focus on the city as a whole, not just downtown or certain neighborhoods. The current commission is comprised of members who all live primarily in one part of the city and the focus appears to be solely on downtown. I live in south Fargo which has not had representation on the commission for some time. Instead of endless TIFs and multi-million dollar bridges to nowhere being built downtown, let’s take some time to assess and invest in our other, growing parts of the city. We need to invest our time and resources in infrastructure, supporting affordable housing, and making Fargo a city that is an attractive to place for current and prospective workers and families.

Prioritize Public Safety

We need to support our law enforcement and first responders. The tragic events of last summer left a deep scar on the heart of our community.
Now, more than ever, we need to support our officers, firefighters and EMTs as much as possible. I believe they should be a priority when putting budgets together. Also, let’s stop handcuffing our law enforcement leadership and overburdening them with unnecessary, unqualified, and ineffective “oversight boards” and, instead, enable them to do their job, while still holding them accountable. Crime deterrence and prevention is a “must” for a growing community. Let’s give our brave frontline workers the support they need.

Common Sense Leadership

I also want to help facilitate the return of common sense to the commission. For far too long, the current commission has been focused on and pushing for agendas that don’t reflect or benefit the whole of Fargo. I want to be a Commissioner that ALL residents can depend on to represent them and their immediate and long-term needs.
